Charles Schapira is an experienced Turnaround CEO and former business owner in multiple Industrial Manufacturing & Distribution Companies. Currently, Charles is a Managing Director with Janas Associates an Investment Bank providing M&A, liquidity events, and consulting services to middle-market companies.
In manufacturing he has worked in the oil industry, precious metals refining and fabrication, packaging machinery (OEM), food processing equipment, CPG, and industrial hot water systems (HVAC). Non-manufacturing clients include health care, trucking, distribution, search firms, private equity, startups, and middle market companies.
Charles specializes in growing small to midsize companies organically or through acquisition. He focuses on top-line growth combined with improvements in direct material costs and reductions in G&A. He enjoys consulting because his skill set allows him to mentor and share knowledge with CEOs, key executives, and employees which in turn benefits the company they work for.
Charles has a deep understanding of critical business drivers in multiple markets and industries. He is highly successful in building relationships with all decision-makers and can be a sounding board to key executives. He seizes control of problem areas and creates a performance-driven customer focus. As the previous owner of a packaging machinery company, he increased sales ninefold in five years. As CEO of a turnaround, he restored profitability and sold the company in under two years. His expertise has also led to expert witness work and serving as a fractional CEO/COO/CRO.
Charles has an impressive support network which he utilizes selectively when working with customers. He also freely provides referrals.
Charles has hands-on experience in every facet of running a company including finance, accounting, risk management, HR, supply chain, inventory & materials management, improving vendor & customer relations, product development from ideation to market, corporate restructuring, and team building. Additionally, Charles has excellent experience in Mergers and Acquisitions evaluating financials, exit planning, performing due diligence, merger integration, and structuring debt and equity financing.

Charles grew up in New York City and graduated from New York University with a degree in International Business & Finance. He resides in Newport Beach, CA., and has one daughter. His hobbies include travel, the arts, racket ball, and playing bad golf.
